BAAPS Support WhatsApp Group

The BAAPS Support WhatsApp Group provides BAAPS members access to rapid peer support and advice regarding clinical and non-clinical matters.

BAAPS Support WhatsApp group Moderation Rules:

1. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
Membership of the WhatsApp Group is a privilege of BAAPS membership and for which you are accountable. By joining, you acknowledge that your mobile number will be available to other members. Please respect the views and opinions of others, and engage with this Group in a professional, collegiate, non-competitive and constructive manner. Members of the BAAPS Support WhatsApp group are encouraged to join BAAPS Support.

2. POSTING
All comments posted are the opinion of the author, not of the BAAPS or BAAPS Support. You must be in possession of explicit signed consent prior to posting any patient photos/identifiable information and such posts should be accompanied by the statement “posted with patient consent”. Posts should be of scientific, academic or educational value, but the latter may involve marketing, business, and legal matters amongst other subjects. ‘Social’ posts should be limited and festivity greetings are discouraged. These include ‘thank you’, ‘congratulations’, ‘well done’ ‘welcome’ etc which should be sent by direct message to the relevant member. Birthday messages, condolences, etc are not appropriate for this Group. All posts should be written in professional language and the use of colloquialisms should be avoided.

3. ADVERTISING
Advertising your, or your associates’, business/products/training on the Group is not acceptable. Educational opportunities such as meetings, webinars, and workshops must not be advertised or promoted by members although the Group Administrator reserves the right to do so.

4. SHARING
Please do not share PDF's/books/articles on this Group unless they are copyright free.

5. CONFIDENTIALITY
This is a confidential forum for BAAPS members, please do not share content outside of the group. Respect the intellectual ownership of information given freely and without prejudice to BAAPS members, it is not yours to pass on to non-members.

6. BREACH OF CONFIDENTIALITY
Any member breaching confidentiality, or violating the Moderation Rules set forth herein risks permanent removal from this group and might face disciplinary action by the BAAPS

7. MODERATION
As it is not possible to delete messages after a short time following posting, BAAPS Support reserves the right to post a disclaimer after any comment that might be deemed inappropriate. The Moderators could also request a written apology on the group from the author for any post that is deemed by the Group Moderators to have contravened the BAAPS Code of Conduct or to be offensive. The Group Moderators will intervene to restrict social posts or otherwise inappropriate posts.

8. BAAPS OR BAAPS SUPPORT RIGHT TO REPRODUCE EDUCATIONAL CONTENT
The BAAPS or BAAPS Support may want to reproduce content that is posted on the BAAPS Support WhatsApp group, in part or in full. BAAPS or BAAPS Support will seek permission from the original author to do so and will ensure that use of such content does not breach patient confidentiality.

9. MEMBERSHIP
Only BAAPS members are eligible to join the Group and members must be in good standing with the BAAPS. Please encourage BAAPS colleagues to join the Group. Membership is managed by the Group Administrator, Megan Lancaster-Smith who can be contacted at secretariat@baaps.org.uk

10. BAAPS SUPPORT INFORMATION
The WhatsApp group will also be used to disseminate announcements, updates and information from the BAAPS Support admin team. APRIL 2023
