Overview
This three-day course aims to prepare senior trainees (ST3 - 6) in orthopaedic and plastic surgery for the hand surgery section of their final examination. The entire hand syllabus is covered on a theoretical basis by means of lectures and there is extensive practice in clinical and viva examination. The course is also open to more junior surgical trainees, where the aim is to provide a broad background from which to consolidate knowledge of hand surgery.

ST3-ST6 in orthopaedic and plastic surgery; others who would like a quick but comprehensive review of topics in hand surgery; trainees coming up to the fellowship exams in orthopaedics and plastic surgery.

Learning Outcomes
On completion, participants should be able to: 1. Demonstrate under viva conditions correct understanding of hand surgery to the level required for the exit examinations in plastic and orthopaedic surgery. 2. To demonstrate the ability to perform appropriate clinical examination of hand patients, and to correctly formulate a surgical management plan.
