Becoming a BAAPS member puts you among the specialist plastic surgeons who meet the association's standards in aesthetic surgery. To patients, the BAAPS name is a mark of trust. Recognition and profile
- Find a Surgeon listing. Full, Interspecialty and Overseas members appear on the “Find a
Surgeon” page, the public directory on the BAAPS website that patients use to find a qualified surgeon near them, putting your name and services in front of people actively looking for surgery.
- BAAPS logo. Full members can use the BAAPS logo on your website and stationery, a recognised signal to patients that you are a specialist plastic surgeon who has met the association's standards.
- Case study sharing. We share Full, Interspecialty and Overseas members' positive patient case studies across the BAAPS social media channels and website to show the positive impact of plastic surgery, tagging and collaborating with your accounts so future patients can find their way to you.
Training and development
- Annual Meeting access. Complimentary access to the BAAPS Annual Conference for Full, Interspecialty and Overseas members, worth up to £700, with significantly discounted attendance for trainees and retired members. The scientific programme, the exhibition and the profession in one room once a year.
- Member journal. Online access to the American Gold, worth £140 if you subscribed alone. Not applicable to ‘Trainees without Journal.’
- Full QMP access. Worth £1,750, it is a premium surgical education library: more than 1,200 hours of HD operative video and master classes, landmark plastic surgery textbooks, and over 250 online courses from leading aesthetic and reconstructive surgeons. You also have access to the QMPCME package to obtain up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ per calendar year!
- Regional Aesthetic Training Days. Practical teaching for trainees and new consultants delivered across the country, bringing a consultant faculty to trainees in their region.
- Educational meetings and courses. Events from around the world promoted through the BAAPS website, with a BAAPS member discount offered to many.
- Fellowships, mentorships and prizes. Annual opportunities to develop your practice, gain experience with senior colleagues and be recognised for your work.
- BAAPS Aesthetic Mentorship Scheme. This scheme provides an ongoing long-term training and supportive relationship between young plastic surgeons towards the end of their training and into their early consultant careers and experienced senior colleagues.
Support for your practice
- Indemnity opportunities. Every surgeon needs indemnity, and membership gives you access to options that can save you money each year.
- RCS certification support. Help working towards Royal College of Surgeons cosmetic surgery certification.
- BAAPS Support membership. Eligibility to join the association's member services arm, home to the webinar series, the Practice Management Day and other services built around running a practice.
- Member WhatsApp group. Direct access to colleagues who have handled the same clinical and practice questions you have, usually the fastest route to a straight answer.
Being part of BAAPS
- The national audit. Full Members contribute the procedure data behind the national audit, the evidence base that gives BAAPS its standing with journalists, researchers and Parliament.
- Safety campaigning. BAAPS is the leading voice for patient safety and higher standards in UK aesthetic surgery. Membership adds your weight to that advocacy.

Levels of membership
There is a level for each stage of a surgeon's career: Trainee, Provisional, Full, Overseas, Retired and Interspecialty. Which category am I?
