General Statement from Eurosurgical

BAAPS has received the following general statement from Eurosurgical:

“We have been informed that a recent product test conducted by a Brazilian certification body, responsible for analysing breast implants for sale in the Brazilian market, found particulates in one sample of Eurosilicone’s Round Collection. These same tests are conducted annually and our products have always passed every test. Of the 30 tests conducted every year, this was the first and only finding. We are working closely with the Brazilian authorities to resolve this matter as swiftly as possible, and expect to have all required issues resolved within the next 60 days, when products should be available to the authorities for new analysis.

“There is no evidence that particulates represent a risk for patients. No actions are necessary for surgeons and patients, and there is no effect on any market outside of Brazil. Meanwhile, we are in touch with the relevant plastic surgery societies and our assurance is that GC Aesthetics products are, and have always been, of the highest quality; supported by 30 years of experience, long-term clinical studies and a lifetime warranty on all our breast implants.”
