BAAPS 2025 Annual Conference: 'Redefining Aesthetics'
Stellar Programme Delivered Global Expertise and Innovation

The comprehensive conference programme, curated by BAAPS Vice President Anthony MacQuillan, delivered on its promise to showcase the latest advancements and refinements across aesthetic facial, breast, and body surgery.
Thursday, 2nd October, began with the Presidential Addresses from BAAPS President Nora Nugent and IAAPS President Sandeep Sharma. The sessions on Body Contouring and Day Case Surgery featured cutting-edge discussions, including Charlie Durrant's presentation on "Day Case Abdominoplasty," and deep dives into facial rejuvenation from international experts like Norman Waterhouse, Monica Fawzy, and Marc Mani. The day concluded with focused talks on Breast Surgery, including Craig Layt on augmentation mastopexy and Cameron Raine on Transgender Mastectomy Surgery.
Friday Highlights: Fat Grafting, Facial Rejuvenation, and Body Contouring
Friday, 3rd October, the final day, saw continued focus on pioneering techniques, particularly in facial aesthetics and body sculpting.
The morning opened with a strong emphasis on Fat Grafting, with Venkat Ramana Yamani discussing the "Evolution of technique and long-term results" in facial fat grafting. Alexis Verpaele explained "The Science of Fat Grafting," and Steve Cohen explored "Regenerative Fat Grafting." The session also included insights into safety and complication avoidance, with Ernest Azzopardi presenting on safe use of Lasers in Aesthetic Surgery and Amin Kalaaji addressing the challenging area of "Periorbital Fat Grafting."
Facial rejuvenation continued to dominate the mid-morning, with Marc Mani delivering three essential presentations, including how to avoid "Stigmata of Facelifts" and a deep look into "Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty." Alexis Verpaele updated delegates on the MACS-lift, while Steve Cohen expanded on techniques in "Deep Plane Face, Neck Lift and Beyond." The programme also featured the presentation of the prestigious Hackett Prize to Khalid Khalil for their analysis of patient satisfaction following Augmentation-Mastopexy.
The afternoon sessions successfully rounded out the programme with a return to Breast and Body Surgery and the conference closed with a look at advanced body contouring, as Jordi Mir presented the "HD Body Lift" and the "European Style in HD Lipo."
Associated Events and Social Programme
In addition to the scientific agenda, the associated educational days were successfully held: the BAAPSNA Day for plastic surgery nurses and associated healthcare specialties on Thursday, 2nd October, and the BAAPS Support Practice Management Day on October 4th at the Royal College of Surgeons.
The social programme was a resounding success, with delegates attending the Drinks Reception and Annual Conference Dinner at the stunning One Marylebone on Thursday, 2nd October, followed by the lively Afterparty at The Vaults, One Marylebone.
