About me:
Mr Taimur Shoaib is a consultant plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon (GMC 3615443), on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery since February 2006. He is a member of BAAPS and ISAPS, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and practises in Glasgow and at 64 Harley Street, London. Qualifications: MB ChB (University of Glasgow, 1992); FRCSEd (1997); DMI RCSEd (2002); MD (University of Glasgow, 2003); FRCSEd(Plast) (2005). Mr Shoaib trained in general surgery across the West of Scotland and in Oxford, and has worked exclusively in plastic surgery since 1997. His higher doctorate (MD) in head and neck cancer surgery was completed at Canniesburn Hospital, Glasgow, and he finished his training with a specialist fellowship in head and neck cancer surgery in Oxford. He left the NHS in 2014 to concentrate on private practice. Mr Shoaib founded the Glasgow clinic La Belle Forme in July 2009 and was its Medical Director for fifteen years, until the business was sold in December 2024. He went back to his own private practice in early 2026 and now practises independently. His practice covers rhinoplasty, facelift, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), CO2 laser resurfacing, breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast uplift, single-stage augmentation-mastopexy, abdominoplasty and liposuction. Mr Shoaib audits his own results and publishes them in peer-reviewed journals: a 3.5% rhinoplasty revision rate, against up to 17% in the published literature; a 0.8% complication rate across 238 consecutive closed rhinoplasties over two years; five-year breast implant follow-up in Aesthetic Surgery Journal (2026); and a ten-year single-stage augmentation-mastopexy series with a risk stratification model in JPRAS Open (2026). He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and national guidelines since 1999, including the early work that established sentinel lymph node biopsy in head and neck cancer, and the reconstructive surgery chapter in Stell & Maran's Textbook of Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology (5th edition). Declared interests: Mr Shoaib is a Key Opinion Leader for GC Aesthetics, manufacturer of the PERLE implant, and a faculty member and Key Opinion Leader for Allergan.
